Spanish Footballer Jesús De Miguel Dies After On-Field Collision With Goalkeeper

Tenerife footballer Jesús de Miguel died on Tuesday morning after suffering a serious injury during a second-division match against Andorra on Monday.

The 30-year-old was involved in a collision with Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono while contesting the ball in midfield during the closing minutes of the game at Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López.

De Miguel was rushed to hospital and admitted to intensive care. Tenerife had initially described his condition as stable despite the seriousness of his injuries.

However, the club later confirmed his death at 8 am on November 3, expressing deep grief over the loss. The match, which was level at 2-2, was halted in the 108th minute following the incident.

De Miguel made his professional debut with Leganés B in 2015 and went on to represent eight other Spanish clubs before joining Tenerife last year.
