PM Modi Addresses International Space Summit In Paris

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the International Space Summit in Paris on September 10, highlighting India’s growing achievements in space exploration and its commitment to peaceful international cooperation.

Modi credited ISRO scientists, engineers and technicians for building India’s space capabilities through years of dedicated work.

He highlighted the Chandrayaan programme and other major milestones, while noting that more than 430 satellites from 34 countries have been launched aboard Indian rockets.

During his address, Modi said, “India’s approach is rooted in ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. That is one Earth, one family, one future. This spirit must now travel beyond Earth. We support a safe, secure, peaceful, and sustainable space domain anchored in international law, dialogue, and multilateral cooperation. Scientific data must serve the common good with openness and integrity. India’s space journey reflects this philosophy.”

He also praised ISRO for its global reputation for excellence and cost-effective missions, saying its technologies support areas including farming, fishing, weather forecasting, disaster management and navigation.

Meanwhile, India and France announced three new space-sector agreements covering satellite launches, space surveillance and microsatellite technology. The agreements include contracts worth over five million euros between Safran Space and Dhruva Space.
