Washington DC: US President Donald Trump has renewed his pledge to provide a $5,000 “Trump Dividend” to every adult in the United States, saying the payment will be funded by the country’s economic development, investment and financial gains.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump defended the proposed payment against criticism from Democrats, accusing them of hoping the plan does not go ahead.
Trump pointed to previous initiatives as examples of promises he says were delivered despite opposition. He cited the “Great Big Beautiful Bill,” which he said Democrats had claimed could not be approved, and the $1,776 payments given to members of the US military last year.
Trump said the military payments were initially considered unlikely but were eventually delivered.
Defending his latest proposal, Trump said, “When I say something, I mean it! The $5,000 Dividend will happen because the People of our Country deserve it.”
Trump also linked the proposed dividend to what he described as trillions of dollars in economic development, investment and “Pure SUCCESS” for the country.
He concluded his post by urging Americans to vote Republican and support his “Make America Great Again” agenda.
