New Delhi: The second day of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi will feature an open session focused on resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainability, the four key pillars of India’s 2026 BRICS chairship.
The session, titled “Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability: Shaping the Future for Inclusive Global Growth”, will take place at the Summit Hall inside Bharat Mandapam.
BRICS leaders are expected to discuss shared priorities, strengthen cooperation among member countries and explore ways to support more inclusive global growth.
India is hosting the two-day summit on September 12 and 13 under the theme, “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.”
On Saturday, BRICS leaders unanimously adopted the New Delhi Declaration 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the declaration reflects a BRICS that is “wider in reach and stronger in purpose”.
He also said the declaration places emphasis on innovation, sustainability and people-to-people connections, with cooperation aimed at becoming “more practical, development-oriented and responsive to the aspirations of the BRICS nations”.
During its 2026 chairship, India is focusing on stronger economic and institutional resilience, emerging technologies and digital infrastructure, deeper cooperation, trade facilitation, climate action, green finance and sustainable development.
