The vessel was carrying 19 crew members, including 17 Indian nationals, when it was hit by a projectile while passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, 12 crew members were injured, among them 11 Indians.
The injured seafarers were evacuated with assistance from Omani authorities and taken to Khasab, Oman, for medical treatment. The MEA thanked Oman for its support.
India said the repeated attacks on commercial shipping in the region were a matter of deep concern and urged that attacks targeting vessels, seafarers and civilian infrastructure must stop. It also called for the restoration of safe navigation and commercial activity through international waterways.
The incident comes days after five Indian nationals were rescued from Kuwait-flagged tanker MT Kazimah III after it was struck by a projectile in the Strait of Hormuz on October 3. The Indian Embassy in Oman coordinated their rescue.
