In the original video, the woman can be seen bathing in the Ganga while wearing a salwar suit. A comparison of the viral and original videos on social media showed that the footage had been digitally manipulated to make it appear as though she was wearing revealing clothing.
Further checking the Instagram profile revealed that the woman, identified as Sonam Yadav, is a social media creator who regularly posts videos related to Ganga bathing. The profile also contained videos in which she addressed the viral footage, stating that the video had been altered using AI. She also said that she had filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Branch.
