A video showing a large group of men gathered on a road is being widely shared on social media with the claim that it shows members of the Gurjar community rallying in support of Kalyan Bainsla, the accused in the recent Gurugram hit-and-run case.
The claim surfaced after a video of a car hitting a woman biker in Gurugram went viral on social media. Kalyan Bainsla, who was allegedly driving the car, and his cousin were subsequently arrested. An FIR was registered against Bainsla under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and an attempt-to-murder charge was later added.
A Facebook user posted the viral post with the following caption:
The Gurgaon hit-and-run case has taken a new turn as the Gurjar community publicly rallies behind accused Kalyan Baisla, sparking widespread debate online. Videos showing community leaders supporting him have gone viral, drawing mixed reactions. As investigations continue, questions remain over accountability, justice for victims, and the case’s growing social dimension.

NM VERIFIED
NewsMobile investigated the viral post and found the claims to be false.
To verify the claim, we conducted a reverse image search using keyframes from the viral video. The search led us to the same clip posted on an Instagram page on May 5, 2025. This confirmed that the video had been online more than a year before the Gurugram hit-and-run incident, which took place on September 13, 2026.

Further searches led us to an even earlier version of the video posted on the Instagram account of Abhay Baliyan on April 20, 2025. Baliyan appears to be the man wearing a white turban in the viral footage. The post included hashtags such as “jaat” and “jaatmovie”, but did not provide details about the location or the event seen in the video.

While the viral video is unrelated to the Gurugram hit-and-run case, there have separately been reports of support for Bainsla. A mahapanchayat was reportedly called in his support, while residents of his village, Tikri Gurjar in Haryana’s Palwal district, questioned the narrative surrounding the case. However, these developments do not establish any connection between the viral video and Bainsla.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show members of the Gurjar community rallying in support of Kalyan Bainsla, is false.
