Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das on Monday criticised the Delhi government and MCD over the Satya Niketan building collapse and alleged that the “PG mafia nexus” could not operate without political patronage, calling for an investigation into the alleged links.
Das claimed that several PGs were operating in the area and that the MCD had allegedly issued a notice declaring the collapsed building unsafe, yet construction work continued and occupants were not evacuated.
“Through you, we also want to ask whether this PG mafia and the nexus that is operating can function without political patronage. That nexus should also be investigated,” he said, adding that the links of the building owner with political leaders should also be examined.
Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the “Dimagi Naxals” remark, Das alleged that the government had left the youth “to live like cockroaches” and questioned whom they should approach when they demand answers.
Das said a CJP team had been at Satya Niketan since Sunday and was providing whatever assistance it could with its limited resources.
