CBI Registers FIR Into Disha Salian Death Case After Bombay HC Direction

Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR to probe the circumstances surrounding the death of Disha Salian, former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, following the Bombay High Court’s direction for a detailed investigation.

Salian was found dead on June 8, 2020, after falling from a building in Mumbai, just days before Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence. Her death had initially been treated as an accidental death and recorded through an accidental death report (ADR).

The Bombay High Court had recently questioned the continued reliance on the ADR, particularly in view of allegations by Salian’s family that she may have been murdered. The court also took note of the fact that her family had reportedly not received copies of the post-mortem report and ADR even five years after her death.

Salian’s father, Satish Salian, has told investigators that he provided details and names of several people whom he believes could be relevant to the case, including Aditya, Sooraj Pancholi and Dino Morea, besides their bodyguards. He said he expected the investigation to begin soon and expressed confidence that the truth would emerge.

Rajput’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti also welcomed the CBI probe, saying the investigation had renewed hope among the late actor’s followers and asserting that the truth could not remain suppressed indefinitely.

The CBI probe is expected to examine the circumstances leading to Salian’s death and allegations raised by her family.
