Social media users are sharing the image as an authentic photograph of the celebrity couple celebrating the Hindu festival.

NewsMobile investigated the viral image and found it to be AI-generated.
A reverse image search and a detailed keyword search yielded no credible news reports, authentic photographs or official social media posts confirming the image’s authenticity.
Neither Virat Kohli nor Anushka Sharma has shared the photograph on their verified social media accounts. Additionally, no reputable media outlet has published the image as a genuine photograph of the couple.
A closer examination of the image revealed several tell-tale signs commonly associated with AI-generated visuals. These include inconsistent lighting and shadow placement, unnatural facial blending, distorted hand structures, disproportionate body alignment and an excessively smooth, synthetic-looking background.
To further verify the image, NewsMobile analysed it using AI detection tools, including Sightengine and Hive Moderation. Both platforms identified the image as AI-generated with a high probability, further confirming that the viral photograph is not authentic.
