New Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, his wife Sunita Kejriwal, parents Gobind Ram and Gita Devi, and son Pulkit Kejriwal have received notices under Delhi’s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The five family members were issued notices under the “Unmapped with Last SIR” category. The New Delhi Electoral Registration Officer said their submitted Enumeration Forms did not contain sufficient details to establish a link with electoral rolls from the previous revision.
The notices are among 110 issued in the relevant segment of Assembly Constituency 40, which covers the New Delhi seat. Electoral notices are part of the verification process for voters whose records could not be matched with earlier SIR data.
The development has drawn a response from the AAP, while Kejriwal had earlier criticised the SIR process after the draft electoral roll left out more than 47 lakh names.
The party has questioned the basis for the notices. Separately, a petition seeking greater transparency in the notice process is scheduled for hearing before the Supreme Court on September 22.
Door-to-door verification in Delhi began on June 30 and concluded on August 17, with enumeration forms for about 67.18% of electors received and digitised. Voters can submit claims for inclusion using Form 6 until September 30.
