New Delhi: A content creator conducted a late-night social experiment in Delhi by dressing as a woman to understand what women may experience while travelling alone after dark.
The nearly two-hour ride, he said, became increasingly uncomfortable as he encountered repeated stares, unwanted attention and intimidating interactions.
The creator, known as BeJaintle on Instagram, documented the experiment and shared the video online. He wore a dress, makeup and a dupatta covering his head and face before taking a scooter onto Delhi’s roads.
According to his account, people repeatedly stared at him soon after he left home. He also said two men initially stared before following his scooter and attempting to move closer.
In another incident, he claimed a man approached him and began speaking while he was travelling.
The creator also described encounters with auto-rickshaw drivers. He alleged that two autos moved in front of his scooter. One driver reportedly stopped after noticing that his friends were recording, while another allegedly moved towards him repeatedly before leaving.
He eventually ended the experiment, saying the experience had become frightening and uncomfortable. Reflecting on the ride, he said the experience gave him a different perspective on the difficulties women may face while travelling alone at night.
The video prompted mixed reactions online, with some users thanking him for documenting the experience and others describing it as concerning and disturbing.
