India marched into the men’s badminton team event quarterfinals at the Asian Games 2026 after sweeping aside Bangladesh 3-0 on Monday.
The Indian team settled the tie through the three singles matches, with Lakshya Sen, Ayush Shetty and Kidambi Srikanth all registering straight-game victories.
Lakshya opened proceedings for India against Ayman Ibn Jaman and had little trouble securing a 21-4, 21-12 win. The Indian shuttler controlled the rallies from the outset to put India in front.
Ayush followed with another emphatic performance, defeating Gourab Singha 21-4, 21-13 to take India within one win of victory.
Srikanth then produced a composed display against Al Amin Jumar, winning 21-15, 21-9 to seal the tie in India’s favour.
With the three singles wins giving India an unassailable advantage, the scheduled doubles matches were rendered unnecessary.
India will now compete in the quarterfinals, where Japan are expected to provide the next challenge in the men’s team competition.
