The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced that the auction for the 2027 Indian Premier League season will take place in Goa in December this year.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the development on Wednesday, stating that the auction will return to India after being held at overseas venues in recent years, including Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
“This year, after hosting the IPL auction in three foreign locations, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi last year, we are going to host it in Goa in the month of December,” he said.
Meanwhile, the BCCI has shifted the multi-day match between India A Women and Australia A Women from Dharamshala to Mohali. The fixture, scheduled from September 29 to October 2, has been moved due to persistent rainfall and unfavourable ground conditions.
The match will now be played at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali, which is also hosting the ongoing three-match One-Day series between the teams.
Saikia said the venue change was necessary to ensure cricketing activities continue without weather-related interruptions. The opening One-Day match saw India A Women secure a four-wicket win while chasing a target of 236 runs.
