The EC said the additional declaration attached to Form 6 during SIR had been upheld by the Supreme Court, while regular forms under the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, would continue outside the SIR period.
Regarding 97 eligible Goa voters left out of the final roll, the commission said Booth Level Officers were directed to visit their homes and collect the required forms. It said 81 had already submitted Form 6.
The EC also ordered a review of ECINET, including access to electoral-roll data, through a committee headed by a Senior Deputy Election Commissioner and including an independent IIT/IIIT expert.
The commission said its June 24, 2025 SIR order and subsequent schedules were unanimously approved and noted that the Supreme Court had upheld the original order.
It also said the issue raised in the Cabinet Secretary letter concerned an officer’s functioning, not an EC policy or IT-division policy.
For internal functioning, meeting agendas will be circulated in advance and minutes recorded.
SIR deadlines were extended in Delhi to October 30 for claims and objections and November 30 for disposal, while Maharashtra’s deadlines were extended to October 12 and November 10, respectively.
