Fraud and Scam

Telangana Woman Stranded In Muscat After Fake Housekeeping Job Offer

Telangana: A Telangana woman, Thuppudu Laxmi, has been stranded in Muscat, Oman, for nearly a year after being allegedly duped by agents who promised her a housekeeping job.

Laxmi travelled to Oman believing she had secured employment along with accommodation. However, after reaching Muscat, she reportedly found that neither the promised job nor accommodation existed.

The arrangement was allegedly part of a larger job scam involving agents operating from India and Oman, leaving Laxmi stranded in a foreign country without the support she had been promised.

KT Rama Rao Urges Swift Action

BRS leader KT Rama Rao has urged the Telangana government to intervene and facilitate Laxmi’s return to India, citing concerns over her health and prolonged stay in Oman.

Rama Rao has called for coordination between Telangana officials and the Indian Embassy in Oman. He has also shared details reportedly linked to the agents involved to help authorities take action and expedite her return.

The case highlights the risks associated with overseas job offers, particularly those involving agents who demand money or make promises about employment and accommodation without providing verifiable details.

Job seekers should verify overseas recruiters, employers, visa details and employment contracts through official channels before travelling abroad.
