OpenAI has begun the global rollout of GPT-6 in ChatGPT, introducing a new “Intelligent UI” that combines text with visuals and interactive tools. The update initially reached Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users, with Free and Go users also beginning to receive it on October 8.
What Is Intelligent UI?
GPT-6 can automatically generate charts, graphics, forms, tappable buttons, diagrams and interactive experiences based on a user’s request. It can create tools such as calculators, bill splitters and simple games, while also offering visual explanations for complex topics.
For example, users can explore bicycle components through an interactive diagram, adjust inputs to understand results, or receive road-trip maps, travel checklists and customised plans.
OpenAI said the system uses native, streamable components and a compiler that displays interfaces progressively as GPT-6 generates them. The model decides the content, layout and level of interaction required for each query.
Faster Reasoning And Web Research
GPT-6 can begin responding while continuing to reason or use tools. OpenAI said GPT-6 Instant starts responses 44% faster on average than GPT-5.6 Instant when web search is required, while improving search decisions and supporting information.
Updated Safety And Availability
The model includes stronger safeguards against multi-turn bypass attempts and high-risk misuse involving cyber and biological threats, while improving its ability to recognise limitations.
Paid ChatGPT plans use GPT-6 Sol, while Free and Go users receive GPT-6 Luna. The update affects Chat, not Work or Codex, as OpenAI says it aims to make software more adaptable to users.
