NM VERIFIED
NewsMobile verified the claim and found that the video is AI-generated.
The NM team initiated its verification by running a reverse image search using keyframes from the viral video. During the investigation, we found that the footage originated from an episode of Shekhar Tonite, titled “Sanjay Dutt Opens Up On 24 Years Of Trial & Maa Nargis,” uploaded to the show’s YouTube channel on October 2, 2026.
A review of the full episode revealed that Sanjay Dutt did not make the statements attributed to him in the viral clip. The original footage was manipulated to make it appear as though the actor was speaking about Indian Muslims, the military and Kashmir.
Further investigation revealed signs of artificial intelligence manipulation in the viral video. The actor’s lip and eye movements appeared unusual, while the podium microphone also looked suspicious, raising concerns that the footage had been digitally altered.
We then analysed the video using Hive Deepfake Detection. The analysis confirmed that the video was a deepfake.

Hence, it is evident that the viral video falsely portrays Sanjay Dutt making remarks about Indian Muslims, the Army and Kashmir. The video is edited using AI.
