Amit Shah Tells Rahul To Introspect, Says Congress Will Lose In 2029

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his allegations concerning the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, asking him to introspect instead of blaming the electoral process for the party’s repeated defeats.

Shah also predicted that the Congress would lose the 2029 Lok Sabha elections for the fourth consecutive time.

Speaking to reporters in Delhi, Shah argued that the Congress had been losing elections under Gandhi’s leadership even before the SIR exercise began after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

He questioned whether the party’s electoral setbacks could be attributed to the revision of voter lists and urged Gandhi to assess the reasons behind its performance.

Shah’s remarks came after the BJP secured 90 of the 104 seats across three urban local bodies in Gujarat, including 38 of the 44 seats in the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation.

He cited the results as evidence of continued public support for the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Home Minister also criticised Gandhi’s student outreach initiative, ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’, dismissing it as a publicity exercise. He further accused the Congress of failing to connect with voters, particularly in rural areas.

Shah maintained that the Congress needed to rebuild public trust rather than repeatedly question electoral processes.

He expressed confidence that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance would secure a decisive victory in the 2029 general elections.
