NewsMobile investigated the viral post and found the claims to be false.

To verify the video, the NewsMobile team conducted a reverse image search using keyframes from the viral clip. The search led us to several social media posts carrying the same footage in August 2026, confirming that the video predates the recent CJP protests.

On closely examining another version of the viral video, we noticed a shop named Madhav Medicos in the background.

Taking a cue from this, we conducted a keyword search for the shop and found that it is located in Budh Vihar, Delhi.

Further searches led us to a ground report published by Delhi Uptodate News, which covered an incident involving a confrontation between police personnel and the family of a deceased man in Budh Vihar.

According to the report, the body of a 30-year-old man named Ganesh was found under suspicious circumstances at his rented accommodation on the night of July 31, 2026.

His family accused his landlord of murdering him and staged a protest by blocking a road, demanding action in the case. The deceased’s relatives and some local residents also alleged that police personnel had assaulted members of the family during the protest.

The report featured the same woman dressed in black who appears in the viral video. Speaking to the reporter, she alleged that a female police officer named Sapna had snatched her mangalsutra and pulled her hair.

We also found a ground report by Punjab Kesari covering the same incident. In the report, another woman can be seen showing the viral video on her phone and identifying the woman dressed in black as Ganesh’s paternal aunt.

Several other news reports published around the time also covered the suspicious death and the subsequent confrontation between the deceased’s family and police personnel.

These reports establish that the viral footage is from a protest by the family of a deceased man in Delhi’s Budh Vihar area and has no connection to the CJP demonstrations.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show Delhi Police assaulting women participating in the recent Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests, is false.
