Verified: Old Delhi Metro Protest Video Falsely Linked To October 10 CJP Protest

A video showing protesters raising slogans at a metro station is being widely shared on social media with claims that it shows a protest by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), the Congress and its allies in Delhi on October 10, 2026, against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over allegations of vote theft.

The CJP had announced a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on October 10, following which several Delhi Metro stations were closed. Social media users are now claiming that the viral video shows protesters creating a ruckus at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, jumping over barricades despite the station gate being closed.

NewsMobile investigated the viral video and found that the claim is misleading.

To verify the authenticity of the video, we extracted keyframes and conducted a reverse image search on Google. The search led us to a Facebook post shared by a user named Ram Prasad Chouhan on July 20, 2026, featuring the same video.

According to the caption accompanying the post, the video shows a student protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

We also found several other X and Instagram posts sharing the same video in July 2026, with similar claims linking it to a student protest in Delhi. These posts can be seen here and here.

In conclusion, the viral video predates the October 10 protest and is being misleadingly linked to the recent political demonstration in Delhi.
