Those sharing the video have also linked it to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, suggesting that the presence of Bangladeshi nationals in Mumbai highlights the need for the exercise.

NewsMobile investigated the viral post and found the claims to be false.

On closely examining the viral video, the NewsMobile team noticed a large camera positioned among the crowd. Lighting equipment could also be seen installed along the road, indicating that the visuals may have been recorded during a professional shoot.

Taking a cue from this, we conducted a reverse image search using keyframes from the viral video. The search led us to an Instagram post carrying the same footage.

According to the caption accompanying the post, the video was recorded during a shoot in Virar, Maharashtra, where members of a production crew were seen carrying Bangladesh’s national flags.

We then conducted a keyword search using terms such as ‘Virar Bangladesh flag shooting’, which led us to reports by local media outlets featuring similar visuals.

One such video report published by TV 24 Mumbai stated that the incident occurred in the MHADA area of Virar.

According to the report, local residents objected after noticing people carrying Bangladesh flags during the shoot. Some residents reportedly removed the flags and damaged property at the location.

The matter was subsequently brought to the attention of the local police.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show Bangladeshi nationals holding a demonstration in Mumbai, is false.
