Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Starlink and Starshield satellite communication services have returned to their previous operating speeds following recent restrictions. He confirmed on Saturday that the restoration began overnight, with performance reaching usable levels by morning.
The most important thing today is that Starlink and Starshield operations have been restored to the speeds we had before the restrictions. The speeds are now where they need to be. The restoration began overnight, and by this morning, speeds were already sufficient. This matters: for our frontline logistics, for defending Ukraine against jet-powered “shaheds.”
I thank all Americans and all our partners who took this seriously and truly helped – members of Congress, senators, all the media, the State Department, and the President. Protecting lives matters.

In a video address shared on X, Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s Defence Minister had reviewed diagnostic results confirming that both systems were functioning. He thanked the United States, President Donald Trump, members of Congress and other international partners for helping resolve the issue.
The Ukrainian leader stressed that reliable satellite communications remain essential for frontline logistics and protecting the country against Russian attacks involving jet-powered Shahed drones.
Zelenskyy also called on international partners to fulfil outstanding military assistance commitments, particularly the supply of air defence interceptors needed to counter Russian ballistic missiles. He said some deliveries approved through political decisions were still awaited from both American and European partners.
Meanwhile, Ukraine is preparing for diplomatic meetings in Europe involving representatives of the US President and European partners. Zelenskyy emphasised that European countries must remain involved in the negotiations and said diplomatic efforts were expected to continue next week.
He also highlighted the importance of restoring broader cooperation with Washington, alongside ensuring that Ukraine receives the military support required to protect lives and defend its territory.
