Images purportedly showing police personnel assaulting women amid protests have gone viral on social media. The images are being shared with claims that they depict incidents of police brutality against women during demonstrations over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Delhi.
The controversy surrounding the SIR exercise has prompted protests by opposition parties and the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP), with demonstrators also demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Against this backdrop, the two images are being circulated as evidence of alleged police misconduct against women protesters.

NM VERIFIED
NewsMobile verified the claim and found that the images are AI-generated.
The NM team initiated its verification by running both viral images through a reverse image search. However, the searches did not yield any credible media reports corroborating the incidents or establishing the images’ origins.
Further examination revealed several inconsistencies in the images. In one image, people visible in the background appear to have repetitive facial features, with similar faces seemingly recurring in different places. The positioning of the hands also appears unnatural. The overall composition and the way the scenes have been captured raise further questions about the authenticity of the images.
The NM team subsequently analysed the images using AI detection tools. The analysis indicated that the images were AI-generated.

Hence, it is evident that both viral images appear to be AI-generated. They do not establish that Delhi Police personnel assaulted women during the SIR protests.
