Ahmedabad Agents Accused Of Cheating Two Women of Rs 1.05 Crore in Canada Visa Fraud

Three agents are under investigation for allegedly cheating two women in Ahmedabad of a combined ₹1.05 crore by promising Canadian work permits and supplying forged immigration documents. The Ahmedabad Crime Branch’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) is also examining suspicious bank transactions exceeding ₹2.53 crore linked to the case.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly provided counterfeit Canadian visa stamps, fake Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) letters and invalid air tickets to convince the women that their overseas employment arrangements were genuine.

The first complainant, Hetal Vaidh, 44, owns Expert Beauty Parlour on Gurukul Road in Memnagar. She alleged that Pratit Patel, Chintan Patel and Mandeep Singh Grewal, also known as Ramandeep Singh, offered to arrange Canadian work permits for her and promised visas for her husband and son after six months.

The agents allegedly collected ₹55.25 lakh from Vaidh through cash payments and RTGS transfers after quoting ₹55 lakh for the process. She was later asked to open an account at DBS Bank’s Navrangpura branch, through which investigators reportedly identified transactions worth approximately ₹80 lakh.

Vaidh reportedly became suspicious after receiving her passport with purported Canadian visa stamps and an LMIA letter. An air ticket provided for travel to Canada on March 11, 2026, lacked a passenger name record (PNR) number. When she demanded authentic travel and employment documents, the agents allegedly stopped responding.

The second complainant, Nikitaben Naib of Khokhra, was allegedly defrauded of ₹49.99 lakh using a similar method. Transactions exceeding ₹1.73 crore were reportedly detected through her DBS Bank account.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the alleged forgery, the role of the three accused and the financial trail. The allegations remain subject to investigation.
