NewsMobile verified the claim and found that it is misleading.

The NM team initiated its verification by conducting a reverse image search on keyframes from the viral video. The search led us to an Instagram post shared by Dilip Kumar Pandey on September 30, 2026, featuring a longer version of the same clip.

In the extended video, after the man exits the lift, the woman turns towards the camera and delivers a monologue, stating that installing surveillance cameras alone is insufficient and that those monitoring the footage must also pay attention to what is happening. This direct-to-camera statement suggests that the incident was staged to convey a particular message.

The longer footage provides important context missing from the viral version. After the man leaves the lift, the woman addresses the camera directly, commenting that surveillance cameras alone are not enough and that people responsible for monitoring the footage must also remain attentive to events.

Further checks revealed that the post tagged Anamika Singh. Both individuals feature together in several videos on their social media profiles, and the lift clip has also appeared multiple times on their accounts.

Their profiles offer further clues about the nature of the content. Pandey describes himself as an actor, creative performer and theatre practitioner, while Singh also identifies herself as an actor. Another video, posted on September 16, features the pair discussing a controversy in a manner that suggests their involvement in creating such performances.

Additionally, the two operate a joint YouTube channel called Dainafilms, which has approximately 5,830 subscribers and features their video content.

These findings establish that the viral clip is a staged production featuring actors who collaborate on videos, rather than a verified account of an actual harassment incident.
