TikTok Founder Zhang Yiming Overtakes Gautam Adani To Become Asia’s Richest Person

ByteDance founder Zhang Yiming has become Asia’s richest person for the first time, surpassing Indian billionaire Gautam Adani, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Zhang’s fortune has crossed $105 billion, placing him ahead of Adani in the latest wealth rankings.

His rise has been driven by the increased valuation of ByteDance and growing investor interest in the company’s artificial intelligence products, including Doubao and Seedance.

Zhang’s wealth has grown more than eightfold from $13 billion in March 2019, when Bloomberg began tracking his fortune.

The latest ranking highlights the growing role of artificial intelligence and consumer-focused platforms in shaping the fortunes of Asia’s wealthiest individuals.

Zhang’s position at the top marks a significant change in the region’s billionaire rankings, with his wealth now exceeding that of Adani.

The Bloomberg Billionaires Index has placed the ByteDance founder ahead of the Indian industrialist as his fortune continues to rise alongside investor interest in AI and the company’s valuation.
