New Zealand have announced their squad for the upcoming five-match ODI series against India, with Finn Allen, Lockie Ferguson, Rachin Ravindra and Tim Seifert included in the line-up. Mitchell Santner will lead the side.
The ODI series will begin on November 4 at Eden Park in Auckland, following a five-match T20I series scheduled from October 22 to November 1.
New Zealand will look to build on their historic 2-1 ODI series victory over India in January, which marked their first-ever ODI series win against India on Indian soil.
Allen and Ferguson are set to return to ODI cricket after last featuring in the format in 2023. Ferguson’s previous ODI appearance came in the World Cup semi-final against India in Mumbai. Seifert, meanwhile, last played an ODI around 18 months ago during New Zealand’s home series against Pakistan.
Ravindra, who was left out of the T20I squad due to a shoulder injury, has been included for the first three ODIs as he returns to action.
New Zealand have named separate squads for the series, with seven additional players joining for the fourth and fifth matches. The arrangement will allow some members of the squad to travel to Wellington after the third ODI to prepare for the upcoming Test commitments.
New Zealand squad for first three ODIs: Mitchell Santner (captain), Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Jacob Duffy, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Tom Latham (wicketkeeper), Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Nathan Smith, Blair Tickner and Will Young.
New Zealand squad for fourth and fifth ODIs: Mitchell Santner (captain), Finn Allen, Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Kristian Clarke, Jacob Duffy, Matt Fisher, Lockie Ferguson, Mitch Hay (wicketkeeper), Nick Kelly, Tim Seifert (wicketkeeper), Blair Tickner and Will Young.
New Zealand Cricket is expected to announce its 14-member squad for the Test series in early November.
