New Delhi: IndiGo will increase its fuel surcharge on both domestic and international flights from October 6, following a sharp rise in Aviation Turbine Fuel prices.
The latest revision is expected to push airfares higher.
For domestic flights, the surcharge will range from Rs 375 to Rs 1,300, depending on the distance.
It will be Rs 375 for routes up to 500 kilometres, Rs 600 for 501 to 1,000 kilometres, Rs 900 for 1,001 to 1,500 kilometres, and Rs 1,150 for 1,501 to 2,000 kilometres.
Flights covering more than 2,000 kilometres will carry a surcharge of Rs 1,300.
International charges will range from Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000 depending on the region. SAARC flights will attract Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000, while flights to Africa will have a Rs 6,000 surcharge and Europe services Rs 10,000. Southeast Asia, GCC and the Middle East, and North and East Asia will carry Rs 5,500.
