A man from Karnataka’s Udupi district was allegedly murdered in Sharjah in July, with his body later found dismembered and packed into two bags, according to reports. His wife and teenage son have also remained untraceable since his death.
Alwin Prakash Kunder, who had worked at Sharjah Airport for around 14 years, was living in the UAE with his wife Tina Kunder and their Class 10 son.
His brother said the family became concerned after Prakash stopped responding to calls around July 20 and instead sent a brief message saying he was fine.
Prakash’s brother contacted a friend in Sharjah, who checked his company-provided residence. He was reportedly told that Prakash had travelled to India.
However, a subsequent passport check indicated that he was still in Sharjah, after which a missing-person complaint was filed.
During the search, Prakash’s body was reportedly found inside a car parked on a route towards Oman.
His brother said the remains had been cut into nine pieces and placed in two bags.
Sharjah authorities are investigating the circumstances and motive of the killing.
Reports have also said Prakash’s wife and son may have left the UAE, but their whereabouts have not been confirmed.
Speculation about possible involvement of Tina has been reported, but there is no confirmed information establishing her role.
Prakash’s family has said it was unaware of any dispute between the couple. Udupi police are awaiting official communication from Sharjah authorities.
