In a video posted on X, Netanyahu directly addressed Mamdani, saying, “Shame on you, Mamdani,” and announced that he would come to the United Nations to defend Israeli soldiers and “expose the truth” about Mamdani.
The remarks followed an interview Mamdani gave to CNN on Monday night, where he described Netanyahu as “a war criminal and an architect of a horrific genocide of the Palestinian people.” Mamdani also said he believes the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant for Netanyahu should be honored.
Netanyahu is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Thursday, where he is expected to defend the position he outlined in his video.
The exchange comes as both leaders remain sharply divided over Netanyahu’s actions and the International Criminal Court’s warrant against him.
