Prince Harry and Meghan have criticised paparazzi photographers after two men were seen checking the perimeter of their children’s school and looking into the grounds.
The men, believed to be photographers from a European press agency, were spotted separately and later together by school staff and private security.
They were seen stopping at different points before returning to a white rental van. Police later identified them as international photographers.
A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan condemned the incident, calling the behaviour an unacceptable intrusion into their children’s privacy.
The spokesperson said: “The decision by photographers to conduct themselves in this way around a school is extraordinarily reckless.”
The couple’s children were reportedly moved to another undisclosed school after only two days at their first school because of security concerns, with traffic and a longer commute said to have increased pressure on their security team.
Harry and Meghan returned to the UK at the end of August after six years in the US. Their return has also been accompanied by disagreements over their official status.
Earlier this month, Earl Spencer criticised press coverage of Harry and Meghan, describing it as a “cancerous influence in their life” and saying it had echoes of what happened to his sister, Diana.
