Actor Sooraj Pancholi has denied having any connection with Disha Salian and said he has been unfairly linked to the controversy surrounding the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
In a statement posted on Instagram, Pancholi said he had never met Salian or Shiv Sena-UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray and maintained that there was no evidence connecting him to the case.
“I have never met Late Disha Salian in my life, directly or indirectly. I have also never met Aditya Thackeray in my life! It is honestly very unfair and extremely upsetting to see my name being dragged into something that I have absolutely nothing to do with, especially when there is no evidence or proof connecting me to this matter,” he said.
Pancholi’s statement came after the CBI registered an FIR to investigate Salian’s death following the Bombay High Court’s direction for a detailed probe.
Advocate Nilesh Ojha, representing Salian’s father Satish Salian, said the FIR includes several names, including Aaditya Thackeray, Rohan Roy, Rhea Chakraborty, Param Bir Singh, Dino Morea and Sooraj Pancholi, besides police officials and others.
Pancholi said he had already been questioned by the CBI and police several years ago and that his statement was recorded “almost 4-5 years ago”. He added that he remained silent for a long time to avoid responding to reports linking him to the matter.
“I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE!” Pancholi said, adding that he was willing to cooperate if investigators wanted to question him again or required additional information.
He also urged people not to form opinions based on social media reports and called for an investigation into what he described as “malicious propaganda and false narratives” surrounding the case.
Pancholi said he supported a fair and thorough CBI investigation into Salian’s death and expressed confidence that the investigation would establish the facts.
Salian was found dead on June 8, 2020, days before Rajput was found dead at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai.
