SpiceJet Flights Delayed At Delhi Airport, Over 500 Passengers Affected

New Delhi: Several SpiceJet flights from Delhi to Leh, Jammu and Dubai were delayed on Saturday due to operational issues, affecting more than 500 passengers.

At least four domestic flights and one international service were impacted. Reports said check-in staff for some Leh-bound flights did not report at Delhi’s Terminal 1 around 2.30 am, disrupting passenger processing.

Leh-bound flight SG127, scheduled for 4.50 am, reportedly departed around 9 am. Flights SG121 and SG125 to Leh and SG2160 to Jammu were also delayed. The Delhi-Dubai flight SG5111, scheduled for 7.45 am from Terminal 3, took off at 9.42 am.

SpiceJet said SG121, SG127 and SG2160 were delayed for operational reasons but had later departed and reached their destinations. The airline apologised for the inconvenience.

Delhi Airport said its teams were coordinating with SpiceJet and other stakeholders to assist passengers, including distributing water and providing updates.

The disruption came days after two SpiceJet Delhi-Dubai flights were delayed by more than 24 hours on September 15, leading to passenger protests at the airport. The airline had then cited operational reasons and said alternate arrangements would be made.
