Sree Charani Sets New Record In ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings

India’s Sree Charani has set a new benchmark in the ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings, becoming the first bowler to reach 817 rating points.

The left-arm spinner, who continues to occupy the top position in the rankings, surpassed the previous record of 806 points held by Australia’s Megan Schutt since November 2018.

Charani’s rise has been driven by a string of strong performances for India across the Women’s Asia Cup and the 2026 Asian Games. She claimed 12 wickets during India’s title-winning Asia Cup campaign, including figures of 4/20 against Sri Lanka in the final.

She maintained her form at the Asian Games in Japan, producing career-best figures of 4/10 against hosts Japan in the quarterfinals. Charani then took two wickets in the final against Sri Lanka as India successfully defended their women’s cricket title.

India all-rounder Deepti Sharma also moved up the T20I bowling rankings following her three-wicket haul in the Asian Games final. She now has 754 rating points, while England’s Sophie Ecclestone remains third with 723.

Smriti Mandhana has returned to the top five of the Women’s T20I batting rankings after her 79-run contribution in the Asian Games final. Australia’s Beth Mooney continues to lead the T20I batting chart, while Mandhana retains the top position in the ODI batting rankings.

In the ODI rankings, West Indies captain Hayley Matthews climbed three places to fourth among batters with 711 points after her record 182 against Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe’s Nyasha Gwanzura made significant progress in the ODI bowling rankings, rising 52 places to 156th following career-best figures of 4/33. Modester Mupachikwa also moved up 16 spots to a career-best 40th in the ODI batting rankings after scores of 86 and 38 in the ongoing series.

Australia’s Ash Gardner remains the leading ODI all-rounder, while Matthews continues to top the T20I all-rounder rankings. Alana King holds the No.1 position among ODI bowlers.
