US President Donald Trump has announced a new federal task force called the Super Intelligence Force, or SIF, aimed at bringing executive branch policies together and coordinating the government’s work on advanced artificial intelligence.
The move follows an administration executive order titled “Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence,” which directs the US government to stop using the terms “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI” in official settings to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Announcing the new force on Truth Social, Trump said, “Following the Historic White House Accord on Super Intelligence, where the World’s most important Technology Companies came together, and confirmed their responsibilities to the American People, I am announcing the formation of the Super Intelligence Force (SIF).”
The SIF will act as the federal government’s main link with civil society, safety advocacy groups and private industry.
Its broader role is to coordinate federal efforts and support continued US leadership in Super Intelligence.
Trump said the force would protect American interests and improve the lives of people across the country. He also described Super Intelligence as a development that many believe could be bigger than the Industrial Revolution and the Internet.
