Gangsters Himanshu Bhau and Neeraj Faridpuria, wanted in India in multiple criminal cases, have been arrested in the United States, reports said.
The two were reportedly apprehended in Las Vegas on October 22 following inputs from the Haryana Special Task Force (STF), with assistance from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Haryana STF is coordinating with US authorities and central agencies to facilitate their deportation to India.
Bhau, whose real name is Himanshu Ritoliya, is a rival of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and features on the most-wanted lists of Haryana and Delhi Police.
An Interpol Red Notice was issued against him in August 2023. Police have linked him to cases involving murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, extortion, forgery and criminal conspiracy across several states. Investigators allege he operated a criminal network from abroad.
Faridpuria, a resident of Haryana’s Palwal district, faces more than 25 criminal cases. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in a murder case in 2015 but received bail from the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 2019.
His name later surfaced in the 2019 killing of Congress spokesperson Vikas Chaudhary in Faridabad.
Both gangsters have been linked by investigators to alleged criminal networks and shootings in the Delhi-NCR region.
Police have also examined suspected links between the Himanshu Bhau gang and several murders, including the killings of a gym trainer and a dairy businessman in south Delhi’s Aya Nagar.
Their return to India will depend on the applicable legal and deportation procedures.
