US Central Command has rejected claims by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that its forces struck two US Navy destroyers operating in the Middle East, saying no American warship was hit.
“Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces have claimed they struck two US Navy destroyers operating in the Middle East. This is completely FALSE,” CENTCOM said in a statement posted on social media.

CENTCOM said Iranian forces had attempted attacks on US vessels, but all of them failed. The denial comes at a time of growing tensions between Washington and Tehran following several military exchanges around the Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC had claimed that two US vessels were hit during retaliatory operations after American attacks on Iranian oil tankers. Iranian state-linked outlets also reported that the attacks took place amid rising tensions over shipping restrictions in the strategic waterway.
According to CENTCOM, an American aircraft carrier and a guided-missile destroyer also avoided multiple Iranian ballistic missile attacks.
The US military command has firmly rejected Iran’s claim of successfully striking American warships, while tensions between the two sides continue to rise around the Strait of Hormuz.
