NM VERIFIED
NewsMobile verified the claim and found that the video is AI-generated.
The NM team first conducted a keyword search using relevant terms related to the viral claim and the video. The search led us to reports about the same video being flagged as fake and AI-generated.
A post shared by the official North Eastern Railway X account on August 30, 2026, also clarified that the video purportedly showing Chhapra Junction was false and misleading. The railway authorities stated that the video had been created using AI and did not represent the actual situation. They also said that legal action was being initiated through the cyber cell over the circulation of the misleading content.

We then closely examined the viral video. Several visual anomalies were noticeable, particularly in the appearance and movement of the water and the railway station structure. The station clock also appears unnatural, providing further indications that the footage was digitally generated rather than an authentic recording.
To further verify the video’s authenticity, we analysed it using AI-detection tools. Hive Moderation’s AI-generated content detector indicated a 96% likelihood of AI-generated content in the video.

The viral video does not show an authentic scene from Chhapra Junction. Our investigation, the visual anomalies, AI-detection analysis and the clarification issued by North Eastern Railway establish that the video is AI-generated and misleadingly presented as a real incident.
