NM VERIFIED
NewsMobile verified the claim and found that the image is AI-generated.
The NM team initiated a reverse image search by running the viral image through the search tool. However, no credible or related result matching the viral newspaper cutting was found.
We also checked the Dainik Jagran newspaper edition dated September 17, 2026. The original newspaper is completely different from the viral image and does not carry any such report about Rahul Gandhi receiving money from China or the United States. Dainik Jagran‘s e-paper lists its National edition separately.
During further examination, we noticed several visual inconsistencies in the viral newspaper page. The name “Jitendra Patel” appears directly below the Dainik Jagran masthead, while the placement of the newspaper’s logo, date and edition details also differs from the original newspaper format. The unusual placement of elements, inconsistent spacing and large empty areas on the purported front page further raised suspicion that the image had been digitally created.
These inconsistencies prompted the us to investigate whether the image was AI-generated. We analysed the viral newspaper cutting using Hive’s AI-generated content detection tool. The analysis indicated that the viral newspaper image was AI-generated.

Hence, it is evident that the viral newspaper cutting claiming that Rahul Gandhi received ₹17 crore from China and the US is fake and AI-generated. It is not an original Dainik Jagran front page.
