NM VERIFIED

NewsMobile verified the claim and found that the image is AI-generated.

The NM team initiated its verification by running the viral image through a reverse image search but could not find any credible source establishing its authenticity. We also searched the BBC website for the purported headline but found no record of any such article being published by the news organisation.

During our examination, we noticed several discrepancies in the viral image. The headline appeared unusually bold and prominently sized, while the BBC logo also looked noticeably different from the news organisation’s usual branding.

We also noticed a Grok AI watermark in the bottom-right corner of the viral image, suggesting that it was created using Grok’s AI image-generation tool.

For further verification, we ran the viral image through Hive Moderation, an AI-detection tool, which indicated that the image was AI-generated.

Hence, it is evident that the viral image is AI-generated and falsely attributed to the BBC.
