Verified: This Video Does Not Show Police Uniforms Being Supplied To BJP-RSS Workers

A video showing a vehicle loaded with khaki police uniforms is being widely shared on social media with the claim that the uniforms were being transported to Delhi for BJP and RSS supporters to impersonate police personnel and assault protesters demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.

The video is being circulated amid the ongoing protests against the Chief Election Commissioner in Delhi, with several users alleging that the footage exposes a plan to deploy individuals disguised as police officers to attack demonstrators.

A Facebook user posted the viral post with the following caption:

“A circulating video from Jantar Mantar in Delhi has raised questions about police personnel and their identification.

The footage shows individuals in uniform, with claims that nametags were missing during the gathering.

The post also questions the movement of a vehicle carrying batons at the location.

The clip continues to draw online discussion regarding the presence and identification of security personnel.”

NewsMobile investigated the viral post and found the claims to be false.

To verify the video, the NewsMobile team examined the footage closely and noticed that people in the background could be heard speaking Bengali, suggesting that the clip might have originated in West Bengal.

Taking a cue from this, we conducted a reverse image search using keyframes from the viral video. The search led us to a Facebook post shared by a user named Rakesh Sarkar on October 9, 2026, featuring the same footage.

The caption accompanying the original post indicated that the uniforms were intended for newly appointed constables of the West Bengal Police. The post also carried hashtags such as #WBP, #wbppolice and West Bengal Police.

According to Sarkar’s Facebook profile, he is a resident of Bagdah in West Bengal.

On examining the comments section of the original post, we found that Sarkar had clarified that the uniforms belonged to the West Bengal Police and had no connection to the BJP or RSS.

Further examination of his Facebook account led us to another video posted on October 1, 2026, showing several people standing in a queue.

The caption and voiceover accompanying this video indicated that the individuals were newly selected police recruits from the Bangaon area, who had gathered for uniform measurements.

We also found another video uploaded by Sarkar on October 13, 2026, in which he addressed the misleading claims surrounding his earlier footage.

In this clarification, Sarkar stated that he had recently joined the West Bengal Police and that a vehicle carrying uniforms had arrived for the newly recruited personnel.

He explained that he had recorded and uploaded the video to his Facebook account, but it was subsequently circulated on social media with claims linking it to the protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show uniforms being transported to Delhi for BJP and RSS supporters to impersonate police personnel and assault protesters, is false.
